I was born and raised in Southern Ontario, Canada. I reside in Tallapoosa County with my husband of 20 years and my son 19 years of age. At 18 months our son was diagnosed with Pervasive Development Disorder and later diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Since the age of 18 months my son has been in many special educational programs throughout Lee County and also attended Auburn University for speech therapy. Through the Tallapoosa County school system I was introduced to Lee County Autism Resource & Advocacy. My son and I have been members ever since meeting this amazingly knowledgeable group for the first time in 2014. Lee County Autism Resource & Advocacy has provided much needed educational workshops, programs, and events that have allowed my son to grow in social skills and as a young adult. I am proud to be a Board Member for this amazing non-profit group.
