My name is Jessica Smart, and I am a senior at Auburn University majoring in Public Administration with two minors, one in Psychology and one in Nonprofit and Philanthropy studies. My dad recently retired from the Air Force and my mom is a Labor and Delivery nurse. I have a younger sister who will be coming to Auburn in the fall, I am engaged to a wonderful man who is studying Diversified Agriculture at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, and I have three dogs that I love with my whole heart. Growing up I moved around my entire life, but my family currently lives in Warner Robins, Georgia and that is where I call home. My goals in life are to attend law school specializing in Special Education Law and Child Advocacy. In my free time I like to read, swim, and spend time with my dogs. LCARA jumped out to me because I have a huge heart for children with special needs, and especially with Autism. I have a family member with Autism, and I also know several people around my community with Autism and other disorders on the spectrum. I look forward to working with LCARA, learning how a nonprofit works, and taking part in fundraising and outreach opportunities.
